The first glass temple is planned to be built in the Arctic

The architects want to build it in the village of Teriberka, taking as a basis the appearance of a lost temple from the late 18th century.

The authors of the unusual project intend to present their concept of the temple at the International Exhibition of Architecture and Design “ARCH Moscow”, which will be held in the capital at the end of May.

They want to build a church made of glass and wood in the village of Teriberka, Murmansk region. And they intend to take the appearance of the lost Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kondopol as a basis.

In the project, we are rethinking the traditional appearance of the temple, taking into account the characteristics of a unique place - Teriberka, and most importantly, we are creating a space for the unity of people, regardless of their views and confessions,” note the authors of the project.

According to their idea, due to the fact that glass will be one of the main materials during construction, it will be possible to observe the northern lights in the temple.
