Exhibition

An exposition of 30 original objects of art glass is presented at the A. Kasteev State Museum of Art.

The exhibition was initiated and supported by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kazakhstan, and, according to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rudolf Gikla, it was the first large-scale cultural project of a friendly state in our country, strengthening the perception of Czech glass craftsmen by Kazakhstan.

In the countries of the Commonwealth, each family was quite familiar with Czech glass. Its popularity, even knowing the boundaries, was explained by a great interest in the aesthetic and quality component of the European brand. Many of us still keep Czech crystal with lace patterns, incredible shine and rain transparency of thick glass among the dishes. We will not recall the details of how each Soviet family saved up money to buy then sparkling wine glasses or vases from Czech crystal that sparkle in the sun. Today, thanks to the preservation of traditions and the technology of craftsmanship of glassblowers, Czech art glass has become an outstanding phenomenon of world art culture, and the name Jiri Pacineka is known on all continents.

Jiri Pachinek was born in 1972 in Litomerice. Seeing in his youth the film "Jacob Glassblower", he instantly decided on the choice of profession. The first experience was received at the factory of the beautiful city of Novy Bor, which has centuries-old traditions of Czech glass production. Scrupulous perfection of his skills, taken from the traditions of famous glassmakers, numerous creative foreign trips to America, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, other countries, personal exhibitions allowed Jiri to develop a recognizable author's style and become one of the recognized masters in the art world. Pachinek has his own workshop and a glass factory in the city of Lindava, which allows him not only to engage in creativity and create art objects to order, but also to train craftsmen in such an unusual and difficult art. His author's brand PAČINEK GLASS is widely known to art lovers all over the world.

The curator of the exhibition in Almaty is Ekaterina Reznikova, candidate of art history, member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scientific secretary of the A. Kasteev State Museum of Art of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

- The exhibition really causes great interest among the audience. Last year, this exhibition, but in a different form, was presented at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan, where it also enjoyed great success. In fact, the exhibition was initiated by the Czech Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and thanks to the personal efforts of Mr. Ambassador Rudolf Gikl, it was possible to show it to a Kazakh audience. Especially for an exhibition in our city, the artist made a composition of three horses depicted in full growth: one figure is reared, resting on the tail, raising its front legs; the other two are based on all limbs. It is characteristic that the images of horses are more characteristic of the Venetian school, but Pachinek brought his vision and authorial features to this composition in working with the material.

First of all, considering such a form of art as art glass, we note that it is completely not peculiar to our region. We have stunning ceramists of the highest international level, recognized experts, but the opportunity to see or actively interact precisely with art glass is not typical for our area. This is the uniqueness of the presented exposition. The second feature of the exhibition is that it provides us with the opportunity not only to see very original art objects made of glass, but actually to get acquainted with the work of one of the outstanding world-class masters of the present working in the art of glass art. In general, the Czechs succeeded in this. The Czech Republic is one of the world's leading centers for the creation of glass objects, but among all the famous Czech artists Jiri Pacinek is the most recognized master in the international art space.

He has many secrets, and he willingly shares some of them with the audience to understand the features of his artistic style. And at a creative meeting with Almaty residents, he announced that he was inviting everyone to his workshop to see how his art objects are created. So, if you are in a position to be in the Czech Republic, take a look at it. In the meantime, you can take a moment and see unusual works of art made of glass in your native Kasteevka. The exhibition of Jiri Pachinek will last until March 1, 2020.
