Chinese scientists have discovered several types of glass in the lunar soil

In China, they report that various types of glass were found in the lunar soil, which was delivered to Earth by the Chinese Chang'e-5 spacecraft. According to Chinese scientists, this opens up prospects for the production of fiberglass-based products from lunar soil.

Various types of glass materials were found in lunar soil samples delivered by the Chinese Chang'e-5 probe, the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences told Xinhua.

After studying the soil and glass residues in it, Chinese scientists concluded that these glass materials differ in their physical origins, which include liquid quenching, vapor deposition and irradiation damage. The study by Chinese physicists was published in the journal National Science Review.
