Currently, the development of the Yuzhno-Aleksandrovsky section of the Tuganskoye field is underway. Demand for the products has been confirmed, the issue of building the second stage as part of the development of the Kuskovo-Shiryaevsky site is being worked out in order to increase the production capacity to 2.3 million tons of ore sands per year.
The Governor of the Tomsk Region Vladimir Mazur held an off-site meeting at the industrial site of TGOK Ilmenit JSC. At a meeting with the management of the enterprise and the Mining Division of Rosatom State Corporation, production plans and the investment program of TGOK Ilmenit JSC were discussed.
General Director of TGOK Ilmenit JSC Konstantin Sheptalin told the head of the region that the support of the Mining Division of Rosatom State Corporation helped to build the most modern enterprise in terms of equipment and the most advanced in terms of technology. The head of the region got acquainted with all stages of the plant's work: from ore mining in a quarry to a factory where enrichment, separation into fractions and product quality control in the technical control department and laboratory takes place.
The Tuganskoye deposit is the first industrial development of titanium-zirconium placers in Russia. The raw material base of the deposit ensures the activity of the GOK for a period of about 80 years.
“The design of new technological facilities will begin in 2024. Today the company employs more than 230 employees. With the commissioning of the second stage, about 350 more people will be added to the staff,” said Konstantin Sheptalin.
The products of JSC TGOK Ilmenit are purchased, among other things, by the enterprises of the State Corporation Rosatom. Aleksey Shemetov, First Deputy General Director of the Mining Division of Rosatom, noted that before the launch of Ilmenite, Russia was 100% dependent on imported titanium and zirconium concentrates. The work of the enterprise has already reduced this dependence by 15%.
Associated products of TGOK Ilmenit JSC are glass and quartz sands. This is a raw material for the production of glass, dry mixes, aerated concrete blocks, silicate bricks, paving slabs. “An industrial cluster should be created on the basis of the Tugan mining and processing plant. The cluster will allow building a number of industries, including the construction industry. The necessary infrastructure, free land plots, engineering networks, that is, everything for this is there, ”Governor Vladimir Mazur set the task.
Vladislav Demidov, Deputy Director of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, who participated in the meeting, noted that the Ministry of Industry and Trade supports the Ilmenit development project and the creation of an industrial cluster on its basis.
