Solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Russian Science, the International Year of Glass and the birthday of D.I. Mendeleev

The first ten days of February 2022 ended with a solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Russian Science, the International Year of Glass and the birthday of D.I. Mendeleev. The event was held in the conference hall of the scientific center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The celebratory meeting was attended by the leaders of the Russian Academy of Sciences, researchers of the Russian Academy of Sciences, heads of enterprises and educational institutions.

The organizers of this research and production Forum were the Institute of Agriculture of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia.

Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, delivered a welcoming speech and a report.

In his speech, Viktor Osipov emphasized the importance of 2022, approved by the UN General Assembly, as the International Year of Glass for the global glass industry and congratulated all colleagues on the International Year of Glass 2022.

Viktor Osipov outlined the stages of the Program of Events of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia as part of the celebration of the International Year of Glass, outlined the results of the 20-year work of StekloSouz and spoke about the Program of Activities until 2030.

In addition, in his report, Viktor Osipov emphasized the close relationship between the activities of the StekloSoyuz Association of Russia and science, the creation of the Scientific and Technical Center, and educational programs jointly with the Institute of Agriculture of the Russian Academy of Sciences. At the same time, personnel issues and retraining were identified.

Viktor Osipov announced the main goals for the development of the glass industry until 2030 - export and import substitution.

Also, as part of the Solemn Meeting, Irina Yuryevna Kruchinina, Vice President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, Director of the Institute of Agriculture of the Russian Academy of Sciences, spoke about the events dedicated to the International Year of Glass 2022 in her report.

In the program of events of the Solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Russian Science, the International Year of Glass and the birthday of D.I. Mendeleev, there were scientific reports, an exhibition of art glass, a lecture on mosaics, online broadcasts from scientific institutes associated with D.I. Mendeleev.

At the end of the Solemn Assembly, the participants took a tour of the building of the Academy of Sciences and showed a documentary film about the life and work of D.I. Mendeleev.

As a result of the work of the Solemn Assembly, Decisions were adopted.
