Solemn opening ceremony of the International Year of Glass 2022 at the UN Palais des Nations

In the second decade of February in Geneva, at the UN Palace of Nations, a large-scale world-class event was held - the solemn opening ceremony of the International Year of Glass 2022.

The Association StekloSouz of Russia took part in the ceremony and business program of this event. "StekloSouz" of Russia was presented by Viktor Osipov, President of the Association.

This large-scale event was attended by delegates from the scientific and industrial fields of the glass industry around the world.

The solemn meeting was opened with a welcoming speech by the Chairman of the Council of the International Year of Glass, Professor Alicia Durand. Also in her report, she emphasized the universality of glass, its importance for humanity in all spheres of life.

At the conference, reports were made on the topic of the latest technical developments, processing and production, taking into account the EU goal of climate neutrality, development prospects were identified.

During 2022 - the International Year of Glass, festive events (forums, conferences, round tables, exhibitions and museum expositions, educational programs and publications in specialized magazines, on industry information portals) will be held in many countries of the world, including Russia. Specialists of the Association StekloSouz of Russia have prepared an Action Plan for 2022 dedicated to the International Year of Glass.

Congratulations to glassmakers all over the world! There is a lot of interesting work ahead of the International Year of Glass 2022.
