Builders warned of a shortage of double-glazed windows in Russia

The Russian construction industry is experiencing a shortage of double-glazed windows, the supply of which is limited from China due to the coronavirus, said Anton Glushkov, head of the National Association of Builders (Nostroy), at an online conference on "Measures of state support for the construction industry" on Tuesday.

“In several regions there is already a shortage of, first of all, Chinese components and building materials, for example glass, it is Chinese in half of the Russian Federation. Outside the Urals, we have only Chinese-made glass on the market. Now we are experiencing a real shortage of glass and double-glazed windows due to the fact that for two months, deliveries of this product from China have practically not been carried out, "said Glushkov.

He noted that in connection with this, most of the companies that concluded municipal, state contracts, of course, were in a difficult situation.

An outbreak caused by the new coronavirus disease was recorded at the end of 2019 in Central China. On March 11, the World Health Organization recognized it as a pandemic.

Recall that Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin instructed the Industry and Trade Ministry and regional authorities to assess the stocks of building materials and their cost. The main task of the authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation is to ensure the sufficiency of building materials so that construction proceeds without interruption and the volume of housing commissioning is not reduced due to the unstable economic situation in the country.
