Meeting of Heads of Associations and Unions of PSM Producers of the Russian Federation

February 2021 ended with an important event in the building materials industry (hereinafter PSM). A meeting of the heads of the Associations and Unions of the PSM Producers of the Russian Federation took place.

We discussed the development of production, including new types of products. Together we analyzed the problems faced by the factories in 2020.

Viktor Osipov, President of the "StekloSouz" Association of Russia, was elected Chairman of the Meeting. He made an overview report on the performance of various segments of the PSM industry. Viktor Ivanovich made a special emphasis on unrealized opportunities and wishes to improve joint work with the PSM Consumers Associations, relevant ministries and departments.

The existing economic mode of industrial development presupposes a "fog" for all types of planning prospects, from operational to strategic. It is difficult to plan production when it is not known how the construction and installation works market will develop, how prices for raw materials and energy resources will behave in a year, in 5 years. In such an environment, it is difficult to calculate the return on investment.

All this is a limiting factor for the development of the industry. Given this fact, the state should take on the risks of price fluctuations. Only after this will there be a revival in industry. Whole regions that are currently oppressed in their development will wait for their investors. It is also necessary to constantly look for internal reserves in order to be competitive. And there are reserves, the speaker assured.

“We must ensure that any customer demand is guaranteed. Development of PSM production will ensure social stability in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation ”(Viktor Osipov).

Albert Popov, head of the Association of Manufacturers of Ceramic Materials, in his speech reported on the work of PC-3 TK 144. He spoke in detail about the state of this industry of PSM.

Alexander Buryanov, head of the Russian Plaster Association, reported on the specifics of the pricing policy in 2020.

Nikolay Somov, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Silicate Products Manufacturers, in his report spoke about the challenges in the construction market and how the factories overcame difficulties over the past year and about environmental problems.

Vladislav Gerashchenko, Director of the Association of Manufacturers of Ceramic Walling Materials, outlined the problems and state of the enterprises at the end of 2020.

A discussion took place, during which decisions were made. It was decided to send consolidated documents with proposals to the Government of the Russian Federation.
