International Forum “Glass and Modern Technologies-XXI”

On October 31, 2019, the StekloSouz of Russia Association in Moscow hosted the International Forum Glass and Modern Technologies-XXI.

More than 200 delegates from all regions of the country attended the Congress.

Currently, more than four thousand companies produce glass and products in Russia. More than 150 glassworks are city-forming.

As you know, over the past two decades, enormous resources have been invested in the development of the glass industry, dozens of new factories have been built, reconstruction has been carried out at enterprises built during the Soviet period.

A presentation was made by Viktor Osipov, President of the StekloSouz of Russia Association. He congratulated the participants of the main industry event on the start of work and said that by the decision of the United Nations (UN) 2020 was recognized as the “year of glass." This UN decision was made at the request of the World Glass Association, of which the Glass Union of Russia is a member.

The international congress was attended by guests from 18 countries of the near and far abroad.

Experts from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy and other countries spoke about cooperation with Russian companies.

Interesting reports were from domestic companies. For example, the heads of Sibir Telematika LLC, Novosibirsk, spoke about the digital control system.

Interesting import-substituting offers were received from JSC NIIPT RASTR, LLC SK Saratepteplomontazh and other delegates.

The Order of the III degree for services to the glass industry in Russia was awarded to Valery Vyacheslavovich Efremenkov, Deputy General Director of Stromizmeritel LLC.

By the decision of the expert committee of JSC "LIGHT" and the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor Institute of Silicate Chemistry named after

I.V. Grebenshchikov Russian Academy of Sciences (IHS RAS) awarded diplomas of the winners of the competition “Glass Industry Leader 2019”.

The delegates adopted the decision of the Congress for 2020 with amendments and additions.

The forum ended with a friendly dinner in honor of the Day of Glass Workers.
