Sibsteklo will increase the share of lightweight packaging to 90%

Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about the member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, Siberian Glass LLC (“Sibsteklo”):

Sibirskoye Steklo LLC (Sibsteklo, the largest manufacturer of glass containers outside the Urals) summed up production results for the nine months of 2023.

According to Anton Mor, General Director of Sibstekl, from January to September, production at the plant increased by 5% - from 605.6 million to 637.3 million units of container glass (while the figure in tons remained virtually unchanged). 568.1 million bottles manufactured using NNPB technology rolled off the conveyors (allows the weight of glass containers to be reduced while maintaining its geometric parameters and strength characteristics), which is 23.6% more than in the same period last year. Thus, the average weight of glass products decreased by 5.5% - from 293 to 277 grams, and the share of lightweight packaging increased from 76 to 89%, and is projected to reach 90% by the end of this year.

“Due to the lighter weight of container glass and the improvement of technological processes, the operating speed of glass-forming machines has increased by 20%, and productivity also shows positive dynamics,” noted Anton More. – To support the active development of the company, in August we opened a warehouse site in the Omsk region and from there, having formed inventory, we ship our products to beverage manufacturers whose facilities are located in this region. Thus, along with the quality of glass packaging, we ensure a level of service, eliminating deviations in delivery schedules, for example, due to unfavorable weather conditions or during the season of maximum demand for transport services.
