Sibsteklo increased production output by 5%

Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about a member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia LLC Siberian Glass (Sibsteklo):

Siberian Glass LLC (Sibsteklo, the largest manufacturer of glass packaging beyond the Urals, an asset of RATM Holding) summed up the results of work for the first half of 2023.

According to the general director of the enterprise Anton Mor, in comparison with the same period last year, the production of container glass in glass complexes increased by 1% - from 116.1 thousand to 117.7 thousand tons, and pieces by 5% - from 401.6 million to 422.6 million. Including 373.2 million bottles rolled off the conveyors, which is 88.3% of the total volume. For comparison: a year earlier, this figure was 78.7%. The average weight of a glass product decreased by 3.6% - from 289.1 to 278.5 grams. The glass utilization ratio rose by one percentage point to 0.86.

According to Anton Mor, beer production is increasing: multinational companies operating in our country have replaced foreign brands with Russian ones, regional players have expanded their sales geography, emphasizing that the taste of their products is due to local flavor. Both those and others are developing a range of soft drinks. Thus, the demand for glass containers is going up.

“In 2023, orders from Sibstekl increased by 5%, we hope this trend will continue in the future,” comments Anton Mor. – In an effort to meet the needs of customers, the plant is looking for ways to increase the efficiency of production activities, including further reducing the weight of glass products, reducing the delivery time for raw materials and enriching Siberian sands for glassmaking, as well as replacing mineral components with glass waste: the share of cullet, used for the manufacture of brown containers, reached 45%.
