Sibsteklo increased production output by 20 percent

Dear colleagues, a member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia LLC Siberian Glass (the largest manufacturer of glass containers beyond the Urals, an asset of RATM Holding) summed up the production results for the three quarters of 2022.

The production of container glass from January to September, compared to the same period last year, increased by 21% in tons - from 147.1 thousand to 177.6 thousand tons, and in pieces by 20% - from 505.7 million to 605.8 million. Including, 469.5 million bottles left the conveyors, made using NNPB (narrow-neck press blowing) technology, which allows reducing the weight of a glass product while maintaining strength characteristics. In the total volume of production, the share of such glass containers increased from 73% to 77%. Currently, seven NNPB lines operate in the glass complexes.

By improving the production processes, the glass utilization rate was increased by three percentage points to 0.86. According to forecasts, by the end of the year, Sibstekl will produce more than 800 million pieces of glass containers, which is 14% more than in 2021.

“The plant's capacities are 100% loaded, but we are ready to consider cooperation with new customers,” comments Anton Mor, General Director of Siberian Glass LLC. – We assume that the demand for glass packaging, among other things, will be fueled by the trend towards the replacement of domestic analogues of imported drinks and premium segment products, which are traditionally packaged in glass containers. Signals to food industry enterprises come from retail chains. We, in turn, are already being approached by manufacturers of juices, canned fruits and vegetables, although so far we are talking about studying the possibilities of Sibstekl as applied to their needs.
