Sibsteklo presented a prototype of a digital assistant at Technoprom-2025

At the opening of the flow auditorium building of the Novosibirsk State University, where an exhibition of technologies developed at NSU was held as part of the XII International Forum of Technological Development “Technoprom”, Sibirskoye Steklo LLC presented a prototype of a “digital assistant” for glass-forming machine operators.

Sibirskoye Steklo LLC (Sibsteklo, an asset of RATM Holding) is one of the leading manufacturers of glass containers in the country, the largest recycler of glass waste, and has the official status of “Partner of National Projects of Russia”.

As a reminder, a year ago, on the sidelines of Technoprom-2024, Sibsteklo and NSU signed an agreement that includes, among other things, the development by the university of a hardware and software complex (HSC) with a module for analyzing photo, video images and thermography of a drop of glass using neural networks. This will allow, by comparing them with a huge array of information, to promptly identify a defect in the formation of a drop, and take measures to eliminate its cause with minimal production losses.

– Currently, the plant is testing cameras and software, – said Anton Mor, General Director of Sibsteklo, Chairman of the Committee for the Production and Consumption of Glass Containers of the StekloSoyuz Association. – The system accumulates data to create an image of an “ideal” drop, in the process the parameters are adjusted and deviations are recorded. As a result of training using artificial intelligence, the PAC, which has unique characteristics, will be able to independently identify defects. We expect that it will become easier to ensure product quality. By the way, the French “digital assistant” is hundreds of times more expensive than ours, in addition, it misses up to 30% of defects.

As Anton Mor reported, the new solution can be scaled by adapting the software to specific operating conditions – humidity, dustiness, vibration, etc.
