«Sibsteklo» supports growth in demand for lightweight containers

Siberian Glass LLC (an asset of RATM Holding) took part in the 29th international exhibition of food, beverages and raw materials for their production ProdExpo, held with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

The exhibition brought together more than two thousand companies from 54 countries. Sibsteklo presented glass packaging for alcoholic beverages, beer, soft drinks, canned food - bottles and cans made using different technologies and in different colors.

“We demonstrated our capabilities, assessed the prospects for the development of the food industry in line with the latest trends - this is the most important component of the company's marketing policy and allows us to adjust our production strategy,” says Anton Mor, General Director of Sibstekl.

According to him, the demand for lightweight glass containers continues to grow, not only in the beer segment, but also on the part of producers of strong alcoholic beverages: we are talking about bottles of 0.5 liters and 0.7 liters. and 1 l. In 2021, the share of beer containers produced by the plant using "facilitating" methods amounted to 91%, vodka - 17%.

– Such a bottle should be perfect – without cuts, chips, bubbles, waviness, foreign inclusions, etc., withstand temperature differences, internal hydrostatic pressure, loads during bottling and capping on automatic lines, – lists Anton Mor. “Consumers are tightening the requirements for the quality of container glass, and our glass products comply with them. In 2022, the volume of orders from a number of key partners more than doubled compared to 2020.

In addition, according to Anton Mor, over the past five years, many new players have entered the vodka market, competition has intensified noticeably, everyone is striving to expand their trademark portfolio, protect their products from counterfeit products and highlight them on store shelves using an exclusive bottle design, which affects the size of batches of glass products supplied by the glass factory.

“We have to transfer production lines more often from the production of one assortment to another,” comments Anton Mor. “As part of our participation in the national project “Productivity Improvement,” we will work to reduce changeover times, thereby increasing production efficiency.
