Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about a member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia LLC Siberian Glass (Sibsteklo):
Chistaya Strana LLC (formerly Glass Recycling LLC) is expanding the geography of glass waste collection in the interests of Siberian Glass LLC by entering into an agreement for the supply of secondary resources with RT-Invest Recycling LLC, which has waste sorting complexes in the Moscow region.
Siberian Glass LLC, one of the leading manufacturers of glass containers in Russia, the largest glass waste disposal company in Siberia, and Chistaya Strana LLC (formerly Glass Recycling LLC) are part of RATM Holding.
LLC RT-Invest Recycling is part of the diversified holding RT-Invest, created with the participation of the Rostec State Corporation.
Recall that it is technologically more difficult to produce glass containers without cullet, its use improves the quality of glass. The melting point of waste glass is not as high as mixtures of sand, soda and dolomite: every 10% of recycled materials reduce energy consumption by 3%, as a result, carbon dioxide emissions into the atmospheric air. With the reduction of energy consumption, the service life of glass melting furnaces is extended from 7-10 to 12-15 years. One ton of cullet replaces 1.2 tons of natural components, thus Sibsteklo, on the one hand, optimizes the cost of delivering minerals from other regions, on the other hand, since glass can be remelted an unlimited number of times, it slows down the rate of depletion of mineral reserves and the accumulation of MSW at the landfills.
According to Anton Mor, General Director of Siberian Glass LLC, at present, the share of cullet in the composition of the raw mix for the manufacture of glass containers reaches 25-30%. Bringing this value up to 60% is the task of the next two years, especially since Sibstekl's capabilities make it possible to use so much glass waste without changing technology. Currently, the plant processes up to 3,000 tons of cullet per month.
According to Alexander Martynov, Director of Clean Country LLC, the first batch of cullet from the Moscow region - 125 tons - will go to Sibsteklo in the first ten days of December.
“Our partner is interested in interacting with MSW consumers directly, bypassing intermediary firms,” he comments. - Moreover, the cost of glass waste, even taking into account the cost of their transportation, will be less than from local enterprises that operate landfills in Siberia or sort MSW there. So far, RT-Invest Recycling is ready to supply 2.5 thousand tons of cullet per month. The development of cooperation assumes that this volume will increase to 5 thousand tons per month.
