Господдержка предприятий-производителей строительных материалов
Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about a member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, Siberian Glass LLC (“Sibsteklo”):
Siberian Glass LLC (Sibsteklo, one of the leading manufacturers of glass containers in the Russian Federation, an asset of RATM Holding) and Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU NETI) entered into a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Production and Consumption of Glass Containers of the of Russia Association "StekloSouz", General Director of Sibstekla Anton Mor and the Rector of NSTU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Anatoly Bataev.
The agreement involves cooperation in several areas, including targeted training of specialists for Sibstekl, retraining and advanced training of personnel, organization of educational and pre-diploma internships for students, employment of university graduates, assistance in research of interest to the enterprise, implementation of scientific projects, and implementation of R&D for " Sibglass."
Also, as part of the agreement, the parties signed an agreement providing for the creation of an import-substituting technology for smelting cast iron for molding equipment used in the production of container glass.
As Anton Mor reported, mold kits made from materials with the necessary strength and thermophysical properties are brought to Russia from other countries. Given the current macroeconomic conditions, it is necessary to reduce the dependence of glass container factories on foreign supplies.
“By joining forces with NSTU, we will have to study the performance characteristics of imported cast iron, then make castings, then a mold kit that will be installed on a glass-forming machine to conduct tests,” says Anton More. – One form should ensure the production of at least a million units of glass containers. Currently, there are no domestic developments that can achieve such a result.
“In the course of joint work with the plant’s specialists, we will clearly identify areas in which NSTU and Sibsteklo will be useful to each other in developing,” comments Anatoly Bataev. – In accordance with the technical profile of the university, we are interested in expanding the circle of industrial partners. As part of the Priority 2030 program, the university has increased its competencies in creating new materials, including for the glass industry. Integration with an industrial partner will allow us to apply this experience in the development of technology for the production of domestic mold kits. Based on the university’s competencies, in the future Sibsteklo may consider the feasibility of producing mold kits at its own enterprise or outsourcing it to domestic companies.
According to the President of RATM Holding Eduard Taran, traditionally, enterprises in the real sector of the economy strengthen their talent pool through effective interaction with universities; in addition, today this is part of business processes, including R&D:
– We set current applied tasks for the university. To strengthen their potential, Russian glass container manufacturers need import-substituting solutions. We hope they will appear as part of the partnership. Sibsteklo is ready to provide support to promising startups with the participation of NSTU.
