Sergey Melikov discussed issues of interaction with a large glass manufacturer at SPIEF-2021

In St. Petersburg, within the framework of the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which was held from June 2 to June 5, 2021, Sergey Melikov discussed issues of interaction with a large glass manufacturer.

Within the framework of the forum, Sergei Melikov held a number of working meetings. One of them - with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Salavatsteklo" Radik Sultanov.

The company produces sheet and mass-colored glass, architectural and coated glass, mirrors, glass containers, sodium silicate, liquid glass, tempered glass for construction and automobiles, glass units. The main manufactured products are flat glass, the sales of which reach up to 80% of the total. The company currently operates in more than 20 countries around the world and employs over 1,500 employees. The company's products are internationally recognized.

In April of this year, the organization acquired at an auction the property complex of the Caspian Sheet Glass Plant JSC. The auction took place as part of the enterprise bankruptcy procedure. At present, a new enterprise, Salavatsteklo Caspiy LLC, has been established. According to the head of Salavatsteklo Caspian, it is planned to expand the range of currently manufactured products and launch by 2023 a line for applying various coatings to flat glass. With the participation of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Nyusret Omarov with one of the largest manufacturers of glass and glass products in Russia, issues of interaction and further development of the Salavatsteklo Caspiy enterprise, expanding the range of products, and implementing new projects were considered.

Radik Sultanov spoke about the situation in the glass industry, including the Caspian sheet glass plant. According to him, enterprises in this area must meet a number of conditions in order to develop successfully. The main ones are logistics, convenient location, transport accessibility.

Sergey Melikov, for his part, asked about the development prospects of the Salavatsteklo Caspiy enterprise. Answering a question, Radik Sultanov said that the new company had already produced products worth 472 million rubles in a short time. “The directions of work have now been determined. We are working on all technological processes in order to come to our standards. An engineering group is working. During the year we will debug and refine the strategy of this company. We already have an understanding of what needs to be done, ”he added.

Commenting, Sergei Melikov noted that the leadership of the republic is interested in the functioning of large enterprises on the territory of Dagestan: "We understand that everything should develop and develop dynamically."

The meeting also discussed the implementation of significant socially oriented projects, as well as plans for the development of intercultural interaction between the republics of Dagestan and Bashkortostan. It is this region that this enterprise represents. The company also showed interest in organizing the production of raw materials (quartz sand) using the available local reserves of sand in the republic.
