Happy Russian Science Day!

Dear colleagues, dear friends!

On behalf of the Presidium of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the Day of Russian Science, which was established by decree of the President of the Russian Federation of June 7, 1999, "given the outstanding role of domestic science in the development of the state and society, following historical traditions and in commemoration 275th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

This day is also significant because on February 8, Dmitry Mendeleev, a Russian scientist and encyclopedist, was born. Chemist, physical chemist, physicist, metrologist, economist, technologist, geologist and meteorologist, oilman, teacher, aeronaut, instrument maker. Professor of the Imperial St. Petersburg University; Corresponding member (in the category "physical") of the Imperial St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences.
