Rusatom Steklovolokno will become a resident of the educational cluster in Gus-Khrustalny

According to Alexander Avdeev, Governor of the Vladimir Region, the program's tasks include training personnel and developing the production of equipment for the glass industry.

Rusatom Steklovolokno will become a resident of the educational and production cluster in the city of Gus-Khrustalny, Vladimir Region, where specialists for chemical industry enterprises will be trained. This was announced to TASS by the governor of the Vladimir region Alexander Avdeev.

“[The cluster] included an educational college and <…> [company] Steklovolokno, which <…> became a subsidiary of Rosatom,” he said.

Avdeev noted that the glass industry is one of the basic industries for the region and has historical value. The creation of a cluster will solve several problems, including the training of qualified personnel. “We merged two colleges, and on the basis of the college we created a competence center for the production of the glass and chemical industries. <…> Our task there is to train personnel who are very important for the industry, and on the basis of this competence center to develop the production of equipment for the glass industry,” he explained.

Earlier, the press service of the regional administration reported that the Gusevsky Glass College in the Vladimir Region will become the basis for the creation of an educational and industrial cluster in 2023, where specialists for chemical enterprises will be trained.

Rusatom Steklovolokno produces straight glass rovingons, chopped strands and technical glass fabrics. Currently, the company produces corrosion-resistant glass in the form of a wide range of rovings and wet chopped fiber, as well as glass fabrics for various purposes.
