Russian environmental operator announced the start of collection of applications for the «Green Prize»

The Association StekloSouz of Russia is working hard to implement the Concept of Extended Responsibility of Producers and Importers of Goods and Packaging (EPR) with the PPK Russian Environmental Operator (PPK REO) on issues of vital interest to the glass industry.

One of the main and fundamental tasks is the requirement of "StekloSouz" on the recognition of glass-making factories as utilizers of cullet.

A positive solution to this goal will allow glass container factories to receive financial resources from the Ecological Fund for the effective development of this area: the acquisition of raw materials from cullet necessary for the production of raw materials, financing for environmental programs, partial compensation for costs incurred, etc.

Many glass container plants that are members of "StekloSouz" are included in the register of utilizers.

The Russian environmental operator announced the start of collecting applications for the Green Prize, which will be awarded for the contribution to the formation of a new model of conscious consumption. Leaders will be selected from brands, public, educational, cultural organizations, media personalities, eco-activists and more. The winners will be announced in early December at a ceremony in the center of Moscow.

“As part of the Green Prize, we will evaluate the contribution of brands, public, educational and cultural organizations, media personalities and eco-activists to the formation of a new model of conscious consumption. After all, the reform of the MSW management industry is not only about processing plants, bills and economic regulation, but also ordinary people with their irresistible desire to make our country cleaner. The main goal of the Green Prize is to attract attention and stimulate others to become more environmentally active, as well as to increase the investment attractiveness of the industry, ”said Denis Butsaev, General Director of PPK REO.

The competition will be presented in seven nominations:

- Brands. Projects of large companies, implemented in the environmental direction.

- Culture / art. Art projects focusing on ecology, sustainable development, conscious consumption.

- Public organizations and volunteers. Environmental projects implemented by public organizations and figures or volunteers.

- Educational institutions. Environmental projects implemented by educational institutions. Potential participants: schools, universities, vocational schools.

- Media projects. Bloggers, media projects and individuals who have contributed to the formation of a new model of behavior in society. Potential participants:

opinion leaders, editions of publications, creators of media projects.

Among the criteria for evaluating these nominations are such indicators as the results achieved, resources spent, audience coverage, existing positive changes from the implemented project, social significance of the project, development prospects, dynamics of positive changes in the long term, project scalability, uniqueness, innovation, originality of the project, the presence of actually carried out activities in order to involve residents in socially significant projects and initiatives in the field of environmental protection and proper waste management.

In addition to these five nominations, the Green Prize will be awarded to the leaders of the Green Rating of the regions, as well as the best regional operators operating on the territory of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. They are assessed according to a number of objective criteria.

The Green Prize is organized by the Russian environmental operator to assess the activities of regions, regional operators in the field of MSW management, as well as brands, cultural figures, public organizations, private initiatives and educational institutions in the field of creating conscious consumption, a new model of behavior and proper handling waste.

The goals of the project are also to identify outstanding personalities - bearers of eco-culture, as well as individuals and organizations - creators of outstanding environmental projects, popularize conscious consumption and a new culture of MSW management in Russia, increase investment attractiveness in the industry, public recognition and encouragement of honored teams and individual scientists , culture, business, politics, sports and professional communities.

The competition is open to citizens of the Russian Federation over 18 years of age, legal entities, public organizations, constituent entities of the Russian Federation and representatives of regional authorities, as well as regional operators for handling MSW.

Applications are accepted until December 1. The award ceremony will take place from December 10 to December 17, the exact date will be announced later.

The winners will receive the Green Prize statuette and the opportunity to become the face of the educational campaign of the Russian environmental operator.

One participant can apply for several projects, but one application is accepted for one project.
