Entrepreneurs asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to lift the moratorium on inspections

Business asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to lift the moratorium on inspections in Russia until the end of 2022. This is stated in a letter to the department, which was signed by representatives of the Association of Retail Trade Companies (AKORT), the National Shoe Union, the Union of Textile and Light Industry Entrepreneurs and other organizations.

In this way, they hope to bring illegal manufacturers of goods to justice, since now, due to the lack of inspections, conscientious market participants have to compete with sellers of cheaper counterfeit goods.

According to the head of the Legprom commodity group of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies, Anna Petrushina, since the spring of 2022, when a moratorium on inspections was introduced, the process of whitewashing the Russian market has continued, but it has gone at a slower pace. In her opinion, lifting the ban on inspections will allow regulatory authorities to more dynamically clear the market of goods of unknown origin.

“From the point of view of trade, the only way to protect the rights of consumers and ensure dominance in the market of legal products is to introduce moratorium restrictions for 2022,” AKORT told Izvestia.

At the same time, the association believes that the moratorium on inspections should be lifted only in relation to unscrupulous market participants, the violations of which were recorded in the “Honest Sign” system.
