Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about a member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia LLC Siberian Glass (Sibsteklo):
The document was signed by Governor of the Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko and Director General of Siberian Glass LLC (the largest manufacturer of glass containers beyond the Urals, an asset of RATM Holding) Anton Mor during the XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Cooperation between the parties to the agreement involves the implementation of projects that reduce the technogenic impact on the environment, contribute to the formation of an infrastructure for the processing of municipal solid waste (MSW) and their involvement in economic circulation, thereby stimulating a balanced socio-economic development of the region. Taking into account mutual interests, the parties will provide conditions for the functioning of a sustainable system for the collection of MSW, primarily glass and plastic, as well as for the introduction of innovations that reduce the use of non-renewable resources by industrial consumers.
Viktor Tomenko stated that the Altai Territory is attentive to environmental issues and strives to become the cleanest region in Siberia and all of Russia
– The search for new points of economic growth in the Siberian regions is possible by reforming the waste management industry, which is one of the fastest growing today, – Anton Mor, General Director of Siberian Glass LLC, comments. – In the Altai Territory, the “green” agenda is strengthened by a powerful tourist and recreational potential: environmental measures taken by the executive authorities actualize the need for successful environmental management practices, including those related to the collection, sorting and disposal of MSW. Optimal solutions to core tasks, loading in total its utilization capacities, and, for example, Sibstekl has 200 thousand tons per year, is ready to offer an environmentally responsible business.
In addition, the agreement provides for the creation of a favorable investment climate for the construction of a plant for the production of a soda-sulfate mixture with a capacity of up to 65 thousand tons per year from renewable raw materials of natural origin in the Mikhailovsky district of the Altai Territory (investment up to 1.2 billion rubles). The commissioning of the enterprise will make it possible to organize up to 150 jobs, which will increase tax revenues to the budgets of the region and the Altai Territory and improve the social situation at the local level.
The basis for the implementation of the plans will be the road map, which will be drawn up in the near future.
