Happy birthday Alexander Vladimirovich Spiridonov

December 20, 2021 marks the 70th anniversary of one of the leading scientists in the field of energy conservation, chief researcher of the laboratory "Energy-saving technologies in construction" NIISF RAASN, Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, Ph.D. Spiridonov Alexander Vladimirovich.

Spiridonov A.V. is one of the leading Russian experts in the field of translucent and facade structures and energy saving in construction, as well as a member of the Board of the Russian Chamber of Building Experts (Rosstroyexpertiza) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Russian-American Energy Efficiency Fund (Rosenfeld Energy Efficiency Fund). For his scientific activity he wrote more than 500 articles in specialized publications, including foreign ones, author of 2 monographs, has 80 patents and copyright certificates. Author and co-author of numerous national and interstate standards, codes of practice in the field of translucent and facade structures, sun protection devices.

In 2016 he was awarded the Gold Medal named after G.L. Osipov RAASN.

In 2021, he was awarded the title of "Best Research Fellow of NIISF" with the installation of a commemorative star on the wall of "Glory of NIISF".

In 1975, Alexander Vladimirovich graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Department of Lighting Engineering and Light Sources. In 1983 he defended his thesis for the degree of "Candidate of Technical Sciences" on the topic "The influence of the lighting characteristics of sun-protection devices on the indicators of visual work in the conditions of precision industries."

1997 to 2010 - First Vice President and President of the Energy Efficient Window Manufacturers Association (APROK Association).

For the next 9 years and up to the present time he is the chief researcher and head of the laboratory "Energy-saving technologies in construction".

The laboratory, which he directs, in addition to fundamental research in the field of energy saving and the development of innovative technologies for translucent enclosing structures, conducts many examinations of already installed facade structures.

Now, in addition to his main work, Alexander Vladimirovich is engaged in social, expert and consulting activities.

In particular:

- is a member of the Expert Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation for technological assessment of investment projects;

- is a member of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Industry and Trade;

- is a member of the Commission on Science and Education in Construction of the CIS Member States under the Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in Construction Activities of the CIS Member States;

- is a member of the United Scientific and Technical Council on urban planning policy and construction of the city of Moscow;

- is a member of the Interdepartmental Expert Council on Energy Saving in Construction on the territory of the city of Moscow;

- is a member of the RSPP Technical Regulation Committee.
