Polish company will build a glass unit production plant in Lithuania

It is planned that the new plant in Kaunas Free Economic Zone will start operating in 2022-2023, and within three years PRESS GLASS will employ 240 qualified specialists.

The Polish glassware company PRESS GLASS has announced plans to build a new plant in Lithuania, according to the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania.

According to the ministry, the new plant in Kaunas Free Economic Zone will start operating in 2022-2023, and within three years PRESS GLASS will employ 240 qualified specialists.

The ministry noted that PRESS GLASS is a leading glass processing company in Europe, which supplies products for the construction industry and cooperates with companies that produce windows, doors, facades, glazing and interior structures, as well as soundproof screens.

The company produces nearly nine million square meters of glass insulating elements annually.

It is noted that the new plant in Lithuania will produce double-glazed windows and supply them to the division of the company, which is responsible for products intended for residential premises.

Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania Ausrine Armonaitė is convinced that PRESS GLASS will significantly strengthen the country's manufacturing sector. According to her, one of the main reasons why Lithuania was less affected by the pandemic in 2020 than other European countries was its strong production capacity.

The planned production volume of 1.2 million square meters of single and double glazed windows means that the entire process at the new plant will be fully automated.

The head of PRESS GLASS Tomasz John said that Lithuania was chosen for the construction of the new plant because the country has a well-developed infrastructure and a stable and favorable business environment. John stressed that the establishment of the plant in Lithuania will significantly improve the company's ability to serve clients from Scandinavia, Poland and the Baltic countries, as it will optimize delivery times and transport costs, as well as increase the company's production capacity.
