Near Chernyakhovsk allowed to build a plant for the production of glass containers. Information about this was published on the website of the Kaliningrad Region Development Corporation.

The permit was issued on April 8 to Elitglass LLC. The company intends to build an enterprise for the production of glass containers, decoration of glass containers, as well as the production of cardboard in the industrial park "Chernyakhovsk". The organization already has factories in the Vladimir region, Mordovia and the Moscow region.

According to the project, an enterprise in the Kaliningrad region will produce import-substituting glass containers of various capacities and shapes for alcoholic and non-alcoholic products. The plant's capacity is 160 million bottles per year.

The total investment in production is estimated at 2.8 billion rubles. The enterprise will create 250 jobs.

In October 2021, Elitglass received a site in an industrial park for the construction of a plant. The company decided to place on the territory of 9.5 hectares.
