The first products were produced by a glass factory in Kyzylorda

The glass factory in Kyzylorda has produced the first tons of products, they are already ready to buy in the country and abroad.

"The kiln for firing the glass factory completed in the region has reached the required temperature, and on October 9 of this year the first trial product was produced," the Kyzylorda region's akimat reported.

The tests were successful, and the plant will continue to operate normally.

"It is planned to set up 8 related production facilities around the glass factory," the regional akimat said. "The production of fiberglass, composite materials, mirrors and other products will be launched."

Recall that the project for the construction of a sheet glass plant with a capacity of 600 tons of products per day in Kyzylorda is being implemented as part of the republican industrialization map. Its customer and operator is Orda Glass ltd LLP, the partnership was established in February 2015 specifically for a glass project. The cost of the enterprise is about 150 million dollars.

Initially, the plant was built with the participation of the shareholders of ARP company LLP, Investment Fund of Kazakhstan JSC and Stewart Engineers (USA). But after the scandalous arrest of the ex-Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan, Kuandyk Bishimbaev, who was caught on bribes, including two million dollars for the patronage of Shymkentkhimmontazh LLP during the construction of a glass factory in Kyzylorda, construction first slowed down due to a change in contractors, and then because exit of one of the project participants.

American participants withdrew from the project, and now the construction is being completed by the Chinese China Triumph International, a subsidiary of China National Building Materials Corporation China National Building Materials. The corporation planned to put the enterprise into operation at the end of 2020, but the plans were corrected by the coronavirus pandemic, and the enterprise was launched only in December 2021. Then it took almost a year to set up, heat up the furnace, hire and train personnel.

By the way, there is already a demand for the products of the new plant, orders are being received from Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and India. But only 30% of products will be sold abroad, while the main thing is to provide the Kazakhstani market. Sheet glass, which Kazakhstan now imports into the country, costs an average of 300-350 US dollars per ton. And Kyzylorda - 200-250 dollars per ton. Despite the fact that the enterprise uses modern technologies tested in the leading countries of the world - the USA, Italy, Belgium, Finland, China. The sheet glass production plant in Kyzylorda is robotized; robots are used for cutting and transporting large and heavy glass plates.
