In memory of Ninel Mironovna Bobkova (10/16/1930 - 11/09/2021)

Dear colleagues, we are sorry to inform you that a wonderful person, a prominent scientist and a real teacher, Ninel Mironovna Bobkova, has passed away.

Labor way

In 1953, Ninel Mironovna Bobkova graduated with honors from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Silicate Technology and was then recommended for admission to graduate school. In 1958, under the guidance of Academician M.A. Bezborodova, she successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis, and in 1969 - her doctoral dissertation.

Ninel Mironovna began her pedagogical activity in 1959 as an assistant and then as an associate professor of the Department of Silicate Technology at BPI. At the same time, she continued active scientific work. In 1971 Ninel Mironovna was awarded the academic title of professor.

After the transfer of the Department of Silicate Technology to the Belarusian State Technological Institute in 1976, Ninel Mironovna headed the department, which she headed for 20 years. The organization of work in the new place required significant efforts not only to equip the department, but also to build a research and production base - a laboratory for high-temperature synthesis.

For her significant contribution to the development of the glass and ceramic industry in 1980, Ninel Mironovna was awarded the title "Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the BSSR", and in 1986 she was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor. In 2005, she was awarded the Gratitude of the President of the Republic of Belarus for many years of scientific and pedagogical activity and the training of highly qualified personnel.

The department, headed by Ninel Mironovna, has trained thousands of silicate engineers who work with dignity at the enterprises of the republic and abroad. Ninel Mironovna created a scientific school, under her scientific leadership 1 doctor of sciences and 46 candidates of sciences were trained.

N.M. Bobkova published more than 650 scientific works, received more than 200 copyright certificates for inventions and 51 patents. 4 textbooks and a monograph written by Ninel Mironovna are widely used by scientists working in the field of physical chemistry and technology of glass, sitalls and silicates, industrial workers, graduate students and students.

Among scientists of the silicate profile, Bobkova Ninel Mironovna is a well-known specialist not only in our republic, but also far beyond its borders.

The administration, trade union committee, faculty, graduates and students grieve over the death of the Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, a prominent Belarusian scientist-silicate, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Glass and Ceramics Technology and express deep condolences to family and friends.

On my own behalf and the entire Presidium of the "StekloSouz" Association, I express my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The bright memory of Bobkova Ninel Mironovna will remain in the hearts of everyone who happened to communicate and work with this wonderful person.
