Господдержка предприятий-производителей строительных материалов
Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about a member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia LLC Siberian Glass (Sibsteklo):
Representatives of Siberian Glass LLC (Sibsteklo, the largest manufacturer of glass containers beyond the Urals, an asset of RATM Holding) took part in the Strategy 2035. The Role of Business in the Sustainable Future of Siberia forum, organized by the National ESG Alliance together with RUSAL and En+.
Within the framework of the forum, the heads of Siberian regions and cities, heads of Russian companies, NGOs, business associations, research and educational organizations discussed reducing the anthropogenic impact on the environment.
According to Anton Mor, General Director of Sibstekl, the principle of environmental management is integrated into the company's business model - the efficiency of a glass container plant directly depends on the development of projects that reduce the industrial burden on the environment, which is of interest to both the state and society. Thus, Sibsteklo should become part of the MSW management system. This opportunity is predetermined by the availability of capacities that ensure the disposal of glass waste - glass melting furnaces. By joining forces with executive authorities that contribute to the creation of conditions that form a stable flow of recyclables, the plant seeks to increase its share in the composition of components for the manufacture of glass, thereby optimizing the glassmaking process and improving the quality of glass. In addition, every 10% of cullet, since it melts faster than a mixture of sand, soda and dolomite, reduces energy consumption by 3%, as a result, and carbon dioxide emissions. With a decrease in energy consumption, the service life of furnaces is extended from 7-10 to 12-15 years.
According to Irina Baibarovich, RATM Holding's sustainable development adviser, the company is ready to dispose of glass waste generated in the regions of the Siberian Federal District, slowing down the accumulation of useful "garbage" fractions at landfills, from where Sibsteklo currently receives a significant part of cullet:
– In order to bring broken glass into line with the requirements of the glass industry, we put into operation the first stage of the technological complex for processing glass cullet. With the launch of the second stage, the processing capacity will increase to 200 thousand tons of recyclable materials per year, that is, it will already be a glass processing plant. We are discussing options for the implementation of the project with the Russian Environmental Operator, the agreement was signed at the XXII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, we will designate specific formats of interaction in the roadmap.
While cooperation with the public sector supports the transition to a circular economy, Sibsteklo offers environmentally friendly solutions to partners from among the beverage manufacturers to achieve sustainable development goals. Recall that in March of this year, at the AB InBev Efes plant in Novosibirsk, they started producing brewing products in a super-light bottle: it was possible to achieve a record low weight of 235 grams, while maintaining other parameters, thanks to the developments of Sibstekl specialists. Such a bottle is more environmentally friendly - its use allows AB InBev Efes to reduce CO2 emissions in the glass packaging supply chain by 10% per conventional unit, and, taking into account the volume of orders, save at least 5 thousand tons of glass annually.
