The ESG agenda of Sibstekl was discussed at the Second Siberian Conference on Sustainable Development

Svyatoslav Perevozchikov, Commercial Director of Siberian Glass LLC (the largest manufacturer of glass containers beyond the Urals, an asset of RATM Holding), spoke at the Second Siberian Conference on Sustainable Development "ESG: a modern tool in the development of regions and society", organized by the information and analytical portal Infopro54.ru

The forum was supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Russian Ecological Society, the project office "Strategies and Practices of Sustainable Development", the School of CSR and Sustainable Development, the Civic Chamber of the Novosibirsk Region, the Investment Promotion Agency of the Novosibirsk Region, the Siberian Center for Support of Public Initiatives, the Novosibirsk Regional Branch of "Opora Rossii" ".

Within the framework of the strategic session “ESG – ecology. Responsible attitude to the environment” Svyatoslav Perevozchikov spoke about the sustainable development goals that Sibsteklo adheres to, the directions for implementing the principle of rational environmental management built into the company’s business model, and how environmental solutions help the company achieve competitive advantages.

“The green agenda gives us additional impetus to improve technologies,” Svyatoslav Perevozchikov stated, focusing on lightening glass containers, which allows the plant to increase its production without increasing the consumption of raw materials and energy, and for customers from among beverage manufacturers to reduce CO2 emissions in the supply chain per unit of production. – In parallel with the fulfillment of contractual obligations, Sibsteklo maintains partnerships with customers in the field of ecology, and in addition, it begins to spread sustainable values among its suppliers, acting as an agent of change for them. Thus, we are tightening the requirements for industrial packaging: corrugated cardboard and film must contain at least 30% recycled materials. By optimizing the movement of material flows, the company shortens the route of transportation of fossil resources from the source to the place of consumption and, thereby, reduces its transport footprint. We are now starting to describe all these processes in accordance with ESG reporting standards.
