Construction of a waste management complex has begun on Solovki

On the Solovetsky archipelago, they began to build a waste management complex. The historical and cultural ensemble of the Solovetsky Islands is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, therefore, there are special requirements for the choice of a technical solution when creating a waste management complex. According to the State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company "Pomorie", as a result, the option of deep processing was chosen, which provides for sorting, composting and waste disposal.

A modern complex will appear on the site of the former landfill, designed to receive 2,300 tons of waste per year. Sorted useful fractions and non-recyclable waste will be packed and transported to the mainland, where plastic, metal and glass will get a second life. The remaining volume of non-recyclable waste is disposed of.
