Alfa Pharm Glass LLC will build a plant in the Rostov region for the production of medical borosilicate glass products. The corresponding agreement was signed at the international industrial exhibition “Innoprom-2024” by the project manager of Alfa Farm Glass LLC, Konstantin Nikulnikov, and the deputy governor of the region, Igor Sorokin, the press service of the Don government reported.
As Igor Sorokin noted, the company plans to produce glass tubes, as well as ampoules and bottles made of borosilicate glass.
“The construction of a new plant will significantly provide domestic enterprises with ampoules, which are currently purchased mainly abroad. The production capacity will be about 5.2 thousand tons of finished products - ampoules and bottles per year,” said the deputy governor.
The total investment in the first stage of construction of the project will exceed 1.6 billion rubles, of which 80% comes from a preferential loan from the Industrial Development Fund of the Russian Federation.
According to Konstantin Nikulnikov, today the Russian pharmaceutical market is one of the fastest growing. In recent years, the industry has seen a steady demand for medical glass packaging.
Borosilicate glass is glass where the alkaline components are replaced with boron oxide. It differs from ordinary glass in increased strength and thermal resistance.
