The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection has prepared a draft of a new subprogram for the study of mineral resources and the development of the mineral resource base for the state program "Environmental Protection and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources for 2021-2025." This was announced by Deputy Head of the Main Department of Natural Resources - Head of the Department of Geology of the Ministry of Natural Resources Oleg Mokh during a round table at the BelTA press center.

"The draft subprogramme has been prepared, it is still under discussion. It presents such key areas as regional studies, providing existing enterprises with a raw material base, import substitution, exploration and involving new types of minerals in the economic turnover. The draft subprogramme should be closely linked with the plan for the technical re-equipment of the industry "said Oleg Mokh.

The annual amount of financing for exploration under the current state program ranges from Br11 million to Br16.5 million. The Ministry of Natural Resources considers it necessary to double this funding. "We will appeal to the government and justify this need," the representative of the ministry added.

In addition to budget funds, investments are also attracted to this area. Investment projects are being implemented on the basis of deposits, tenders are held to transfer deposits to concession. At the beginning of 2020, it is planned to hold a second competition for the selection of a concessionaire for such objects as the Gorodnoye quartz sand deposit (Eastern deposit) and the oil-prospective site Poznyakevichskaya Square.-0-
