Laboratory inspection machine MILT-1. Glass container quality control at a new level!

The level of requirements for the quality control department of glass container manufacturers is growing year after year, while there is sometimes a shortage of qualified and motivated personnel. In the realities of 2025, it is important for the quality control department to have the ability to accurately control the parameters of glass containers in automatic mode, with minimal human intervention. The MILT-1 laboratory inspection machine is ideal for this task, which allows you to measure a wide range of different parameters of a glass bottle/glass jar using modern optical and computer technologies with the involvement of artificial intelligence algorithms.

Previously, similar inspection equipment was supplied to Russia from abroad. For example, "TIAMA COLD LAB" (France), "Dimensional Sampling Gauge AGR" (USA). Now Russian glass factories have the opportunity to purchase a Russian analogue of the above equipment manufactured by LLC "Microelectronic Technologies Plant".

MILT-1 is designed to control the geometric parameters and reject defects of the rim and bottom of glass containers (bottles, jars) of round and oval shapes, as well as square and rectangular shapes, intended for alcoholic and non-alcoholic food products manufactured according to GOST 32131-2021, GOST 5717.1-2021.

The color of the glass of the controlled glass containers according to GOST 34382 may be different: BT (colorless container glass), PT (semi-white container glass), ZT-1 and ZT-2 (green container glass), KT (brown container glass).

The height of the measured glass container is from 40 to 410 mm. The diameter of the measured glass container is from 45 to 150 mm. The weight of the measured glass container is up to 2 kg.

MILT-1 is a non-contact high-precision measuring system that allows automatic measurement of the following parameters of glass containers:

- product height;

- product weight;

- distance between the highest and lowest points on the end of the corolla;

- deviation of the end of the corolla parallelism;

- curvature of the neck of the product;

- external dimensions of the product body;

- body diameter;

- dimensions of the product corolla;

- thread dimensions;

- protrusion on the corolla along the circumference;

- radius along the circumference;

- height of the seams on the body and bottom of the product;

- mold set code.

The above measurements are performed using high-precision cameras, optical components, special software, and AI algorithms.

Machine vision is used in the operation of MILT-1. Its mechanism includes two cameras equipped with telecentric optics of different sizes and a telecentric light source. Each camera is used to check certain geometric parameters of glass containers. A 12 MP camera with a 1.1 inch matrix size and a shooting frequency of 30 frames per second is used to check the diameter of glass containers. A 5 M camera with a shooting frequency of 30 frames per second is used to check the crown, neck and profile of glass containers. The cameras are connected via a USB 3.0 interface.
