INTEGRATED GLASS PROCESSING

The Elizovo branch of OJSC Grodno Glass Factory has implemented a large investment project to create a line for deep processing of cullet, which is a valuable secondary raw material. The commissioning of this facility, the construction of which was under the constant control of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the sectoral republican ministry, became a landmark event not only for the Belarusian, but also for the Russian glass industry.

Technological design and comprehensive supply of equipment for this line, which is a clear example of effective import substitution, was carried out by Nizhny Novgorod LLC Stromizmeritel. The introduced line allows automatic operation to completely clean contaminated cullet from all types of impurities (including organic matter, dirt in the form of earth, sand and clay, stones, ceramics, porcelain, non-ferrous and ferrous metals, plastic, paper, etc.), and also produce differentiated optical separation of cullet into brown, green and colorless glass. At the same time, for the optical classification of cullet by color, domestic photo sorters “Sapsan” from the Voronezh company “SmartGrade”, with which specialists from Nizhny Novgorod have been closely cooperating for several years, were used for the first time.

Based on a similar project from a Nizhny Novgorod company, a line for complex processing of cullet is being built in the Vladimir region with a capacity of 15 tons of cullet per hour. And together with the Perm institute “KamEcoProject” LLC “Stromizmeritel” is completing design work on another facility, the start of construction of which in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Territory, is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. Moreover, production of technological equipment is already underway at both of these facilities. In addition, the terms of reference were approved and a contract was signed for the design of a processing site for imported cullet for a glass container plant in Ruzaevka (Republic of Mordovia).

It should be noted that the chief engineer of these significant projects from the point of view of ecology and resource saving is the Deputy General Director of Stromizmeritel LLC, Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation, Honorary Worker of the Russian Glass Industry Efremenkov Valery Vyacheslavovich. The high technical level of design solutions adopted under his leadership, used in cullet processing lines, is confirmed by a diploma and gold medal of the Moscow International Salon of Innovative Technologies "Archimedes", the Leonardo da Vinci medal for contribution to the development of invention, as well as the honorary title of Laureate of the Nizhny Novgorod Prize named after . I.P. Kulibina.
