RSPP Commission on defense industry supported the creation of the National Mining Cluster in the Komi Republic

The group of companies "RUSTITAN", represented by the managing organization of JSC "RUSMINRESURSY", with the support of the Commission of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on the military-industrial complex, entered into an agreement with the Government of the Komi Republic (represented by the Head of the Komi Republic S. A. Gaplikov) on March 11, 2020 mining cluster (NGPK) for the purpose of integrated development of deposits of titanium, quartz and other types of mineral raw materials located in the Republic of Komi.

The world's largest resources of titanium and quartz raw materials are concentrated in the bowels of the Komi Republic, which determine the future of Komi as a world center for the extraction of mineral raw materials and the production of high-grade products based on titanium and quartz dioxides in the interests of developing domestic industry for the long term. NGPK is being created on the basis of the mining investment project "Construction of a vertically integrated mining and metallurgical complex for the processing of titanium ores and quartz (glass) sands of the Pizhemsky deposit", implemented by the GC "RUSTITAN", while the NGPC contour and the composition of its participants will increase due to new projects planned for implementation on the territory of the Komi Republic.

The main objectives of NGPK will be the unification of enterprises in the mining, processing and chemical industries, protecting their interests and increasing competitiveness, creating a single chain of production and new high-performance jobs, building supporting infrastructure, as well as obtaining government support measures.

The main products planned for production in the NGPC circuit are highly porous rutile concentrates, pigment titanium dioxide, titanium powders for additive technologies (3D printing), synthetic needle wollastonite, special ceramics and polymers, building materials, as well as basalts, gravel and sand and gravel mixtures. The creation of the NGPK will allow to unleash the industrial potential of the Komi Republic at a new qualitative level, to increase the investment attractiveness of projects implemented in the NGKP circuit, which is fully in the interests of the socio-economic development of the region. The mining project for the development of the Pizhemskoye deposit, which became the basis for the creation of the oil and gas complex, is accompanied by the RSPP Commission on the military-industrial complex, in the framework of which an interdepartmental working group has been formed with the participation of representatives of state bodies, the expert community and interested parties.
