III decade, January 2024. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

Shipment of glass by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) in the third decade of January 2024 continued its positive trend compared to the same period last year – plus 22.9%.

In January 2024, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 3.6 million square meters. m, which is 37.1% more than for the same period in 2023.

Decrease in supplies of glass by rail for the period from January 1 to January 31, 2024 in three districts of the Russian Federation:

• Far Eastern Federal District -73.1%;

• Southern Federal District -35.0%;

• North Caucasian Federal District -0.9%.

Consumption of glass delivered by rail for the period from January 1 to January 31, 2024 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation:

• Volga Federal District +413.2%;

• Northwestern Federal District +153.7%;

• Siberian Federal District +34.0%;

• Central Federal District +30.0%;

• Ural Federal District +6.1%.

The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption in 2023 was ~21.7%.
