In the third decade of January 2023, there is a negative trend in the volume of glass shipped by rail to the Russian market (domestic deliveries + imports) - minus 15.3% compared to the corresponding period last year. In the second decade of January 2023 - minus 23.1%.
In January 2023, the shipment of glass by rail to the Russian market amounted to 2.62 million tons, which is 24.4% less than in the same period in 2022 (a decade earlier, minus 29.5%).
A decrease in the supply of glass by railway transport in January 2023 is noted in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - the dynamics for 2022):
• Volga Federal District -76.5% (previously -3.1%);
• Siberian Federal District -26.3% (previously -17.0%);
• CFD -21.5% (previously -9.5%);
• FEFD -19.2% (previously -2.2%).
Positive dynamics of glass shipments by rail in January 2023 is observed in four districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - dynamics for 2022):
• North Caucasus Federal District +73.0% (previously -32.8%);
• Southern Federal District +20.9% (previously +16.8%);
• Ural Federal District +7.3% (previously -3.0%);
• NWFD +4.5% (previously -0.6%).
For comparison: the dynamics of railway shipment of glass for 11 months of 2022 was -10.4%, and the dynamics of the entire glass market was -16.5%. The share of railway shipments of glass to the Russian market in total glass consumption in 2022 was about 20%.
