II decade, May 2024. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

According to preliminary estimates, in the second decade of May 2024, negative dynamics in the volume of glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) will continue. The decrease compared to the same period last year was minus 12.7%.

For the period from the beginning of the year to May 20, 2024, the volume of glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 15.3 million square meters. m, which is 13.1% higher than for the same period in 2023.

Consumption of glass delivered by rail for the period from January 1 to May 20, 2024 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to April 30, 2024):

• Far Eastern Federal District +70.5% (previously +86.9%);

• Volga Federal District +68.1% (previously +98.6%);

• Northwestern Federal District +25.6% (previously +27.3%);

• Ural Federal District +18.5% (previously +15.8%);

• North Caucasian Federal District +8.5% (previously +15.7%);

• Siberian Federal District +5.5% (previously +13.5%).

A decrease in glass supplies by rail for the period from January 1 to May 20, 2024 was recorded in two districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses are the dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to April 30, 2024):

• Central Federal District -29.2% (previously -24.3%);

• Southern Federal District -17.5% (previously -31.7%).

The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption for 3 months of 2024 was ~21%.
