According to preliminary estimates, the negative dynamics in glass shipment by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + import) in the second ten-day period of July 2024 continued compared to the same period last year - minus 31.2%. The shipment volume amounted to 0.9 million sq. m.
Consumption of rail glass by transport in the second ten-day period of July 2024 increased in two federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail supplies in the Ural Federal District +123.8%. A decrease in supplies occurred in six federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest - in the North Caucasus Federal District -100%.
Volume of rail glass consumption in the second ten-day period of July 2024 by federal district of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage compared to the same period last year):
• Ural Federal District - 136 thousand sq. m (+123.8%);
• Far Eastern Federal District - 124 thousand sq. m (+44.4%);
• Volga Federal District – 124 thousand sq. m (-11.1%);
• Central Federal District – 37 thousand sq. m (-17.3%);
• Siberian Federal District – 402 thousand sq. m (-37.7%);
• Southern Federal District – 34 thousand sq. m (-61.3%);
• Northwestern Federal District – 20 thousand sq. m (-84.2%);
• North Caucasian Federal District – 0 thousand sq. m (-100.0%).
Over the 20 days of July 2024, the volume of glass shipped by rail to the Russian market amounted to 2.1 million sq. m, which is 19.9% less than for the same period in 2023.
Consumption of rail glass over the 20 days of July 2024 increased in two federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail deliveries to the Ural Federal District was +28.4%. The supply decline occurred in six federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest in the North Caucasus Federal District -74.8%.
The volume of consumption of railway glass for 20 days of July 2024 by federal district of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage terms compared to the same period last year):
• Ural Federal District - 218 thousand sq. m (+28.4%);
• Volga Federal District - 371 thousand sq. m (+0.1%);
• Far Eastern Federal District - 238 thousand sq. m (-16.4%);
• Siberian Federal District - 932 thousand sq. m (-17.1%);
• Central Federal District - 97 thousand sq. m (-23.8%);
• Northwestern Federal District - 101 thousand sq. m (-42.8%);
• Southern Federal District - 75 thousand sq. m (-60.7%);
• North Caucasian Federal District - 34 thousand sq. m (-74.8%).
For the period from the beginning of the year to July 20, 2024, the volume of glass shipped by rail to the Russian market amounted to 22.8 million sq. m, which is 3.2% more than for the same period in 2023.
Consumption of rail glass from January 1, 2024 to July 20, 2024 increased in four federal districts of the Russian Federation.
The maximum growth in rail deliveries in the Volga Federal District +38.2%. A decrease in deliveries occurred in four federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest - in the Central Federal District -32.4%.
Volume of consumption of rail glass from January 1 to July 20, 2024 by Federal District of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage terms compared to the same period last year):
• Volga Federal District - 4,027 thousand sq. m (+38.2%);
• Far Eastern Federal District - 2,051 thousand sq. m (+23.2%);
• Ural Federal District – 1,838 thousand sq. m (+15.1%);
• Siberian Federal District – 9,717 thousand sq. m (+1.4%);
• Northwestern Federal District – 1,085 thousand sq. m (-0.2%);
• North Caucasian Federal District – 1,223 thousand sq. m (-5.0%);
• Southern Federal District – 1,238 thousand sq. m (-21.7%);
• Central Federal District – 1,583 thousand sq. m (-32.4%).
The share of glass rail deliveries to the Russian market in the total consumption volume for 5 months of 2024 amounted to ~20%.
