II decade, April 2024. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

According to preliminary estimates, in the second decade of April 2024, the positive dynamics of glass shipment volumes by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) gave way to negative ones. The decrease relative to the same period last year was minus 34.2%, which was due to the low indicators of the second ten-day period - the decrease relative to the first ten-day period of April was minus 39.6%.

During the period from the beginning of the year to April 20, 2024, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 12.5 million square meters. m, which is 27.0% more than for the same period in 2023.

A decrease in glass supplies by rail for the period from January 1 to April 20, 2024 was recorded in two districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses are the dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to March 31, 2024):

• Southern Federal District -36.4% (previously -31.9%);

• Central Federal District -21.8% (previously -23.4%).

Consumption of glass delivered by rail for the period from January 1 to April 20, 2024 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to March 31, 2024):

• Volga Federal District +142.1% (previously +222.7%);

• Far Eastern Federal District +102.9% (previously +90.4%);

• Northwestern Federal District +30.6% (previously +19.2%);

• Siberian Federal District +22.6% (previously +41.1%);

• Ural Federal District +21.7% (previously +19.1%);

• North Caucasian Federal District +12.5% (previously +34.7%).

The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption for 2 months of 2024 was ~21%.
