I decade, November 2023. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

The volume of glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) in the first ten days of November 2023 increased significantly compared to the same period last year - plus 80.6%. This growth occurred, on the one hand, due to the low base of last year, and on the other, due to significant growth in the current period.

During the period from the beginning of the year to November 10, 2023, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 34.5 million square meters. m, which is 7.6% more than for the same period in 2022 (a decade earlier – plus 5.9%).

Decrease in shipments of glass by rail for the period from January 1 to November 10, 2023 in four districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to October 31, 2023):

• Southern Federal District -19.4% (previously -21.5%);

• Far Eastern Federal District -11.3% (previously -10.6%);

• Volga Federal District -8.4% (previously -9.9%);

• Ural Federal District -0.1% (previously -2.1%).

Glass shipments by rail for the period from January 1 to November 10, 2023 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to October 31, 2023):

• Northwestern Federal District +61.8% (previously +62.8%);

• North Caucasian Federal District +57.6% (previously +58.9%);

• Central Federal District +22.6% (previously +21.0%);

• Siberian Federal District +12.9% (previously +10.4%).

For comparison: the dynamics of railway glass shipments in the first 9 months of 2023 amounted to plus 5.7%, and the dynamics of the entire glass market – minus 2.0%. The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption during this period amounted to 22.4%.
