I decade, May 2024. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

According to preliminary estimates, the shipment of glass by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) in the first ten days of May 2024 continued to exhibit negative dynamics relative to the same period last year – minus 20.2%.

For the period from the beginning of the year to May 10, 2024, the volume of glass shipments by rail to the Russian market amounted to 14.3 million square meters. m, which is 15.5% more than for the same period in 2023.

A decrease in the supply of glass by rail for the period from January 1 to May 10, 2024 was recorded in two districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets are the dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to April 30, 2024):

• Southern Federal District -26.6% (previously -31.7%);

• Central Federal District -24.1% (previously -24.3%).

Consumption of glass delivered by rail for the period from January 1 to May 10, 2024 increased in six districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to April 30, 2024):

• Far Eastern Federal District +78.3% (previously +86.9%);

• Volga Federal District +72.8% (previously +98.6%);

• Northwestern Federal District +30.3% (previously +27.3%);

• Ural Federal District +23.6% (previously +15.8%);

• North Caucasian Federal District +9.4% (previously +15.7%);

• Siberian Federal District +7.9% (previously +13.5%).

The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption for 2 months of 2024 was ~21%.
