I decade, December 2023. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

The shipment of flat glass, despite fluctuating winter temperatures and record precipitation, shows significant growth.

The volume of glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic deliveries + imports) in the first ten days of December 2023 increased compared to the same period last year - plus 37.9%.

For the period from the beginning of the year to December 10, 2023, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 37.5 million square meters. m, which is 8.1% more than for the same period in 2022 (a decade earlier – plus 7.4%).

Decrease in shipments of glass by rail for the period from January 1 to December 10, 2023 in three districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to November 30, 2023):

• Southern Federal District -22.1% (previously -21.9%);

• Far Eastern Federal District -13.4% (previously -12.9%);

• Volga Federal District -5.5% (previously -6.6%).

Glass shipments by rail for the period from January 1 to December 10, 2023 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to November 30, 2023):

• North Caucasian Federal District +65.8% (previously +65.2%);

• Northwestern Federal District +51.8% (previously +49.8%);

• Siberian Federal District +15.3% (previously +13.6%);

• Central Federal District +13.6% (previously +16.7%);

• Ural Federal District +3.0% (previously +1.2%).

For comparison: the dynamics of railway glass shipments in the first 10 months of 2023 amounted to plus 5.9%, and the dynamics of the entire glass market – plus 1.4%. The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption during this period amounted to 21.7%.
