The most important direction, as in all regions of the republic, remains the support of military personnel participating in a special military operation and their families. Humanitarian supplies are systematically sent from the municipality to the front line.

The main event in the region’s economy was the launch of the first stage of the largest greenhouse complex in the North Caucasus for growing indoor vegetables. The volume of investments amounted to more than 9 billion rubles, more than 460 jobs were created. At the Chegem Glass Factory, which resumed operations, an additional line for the production of glass containers for medical purposes, including those for state defense orders, was launched. It is planned to begin production of colored glass products, which will create another 240 jobs.

Under the federal project “Clean Water”, water intake structures were built and reconstructed in Nartan and Lechinkay, and water supply networks in Nizhny Chegem were updated at the expense of the local budget. The reconstruction of the Chegem II-Bulungu highway, which is an object of increased complexity, continues. The work is carried out directly in the river bed using modern technologies and materials.

Construction of a school for 800 students has begun in Chegem. A “smart” sports ground and a cycling track were also put into operation here, and a universal gym is being built in Shalushka. For the first time in 65 years, school No. 1 in Lechinkai has been completely renovated. This year, under the “Healthcare” national project, 4 rural outpatient clinics and the medical building of the Central District Hospital of the Chegem region will be renovated.

Last year, the municipality again won the All-Russian competition for the best project for a comfortable urban environment with the project “Chegem: moving forward.” The grant amounted to over 100 million rubles. Large-scale landscaping also includes the territory of the district hospital. Work will begin soon. At the same time, the Chegemians are preparing a new application for the competition of the Russian Ministry of Construction.
