The CEO of Sibstekla was nominated for the title «Industrialist of the Year»

Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about a member of the Association StekloSouz of Russia, Siberian Glass LLC (“Sibsteklo”):

General Director of Siberian Glass LLC Anton Mor was again included in the list of contenders for the title “Industrialist of the Year” as part of the annual “Person of the Year” award, organized by the business publication “Business Quarter - Novosibirsk”.

The Person of the Year award is independent and non-profit - nominees are selected by members of industry expert councils consisting of representatives of business, government, professional communities, as well as consultants, marketers and PR specialists.

Let us remember that in 2021 Anton Mor won the “Industrialist of the Year” nomination for the launch of a new glass melting furnace with a capacity of 375 tons of glass melt per day.

In 2023, Sibstekl put into operation the first stage of a technological complex for processing glass waste with a capacity of 60 thousand tons of secondary raw materials per year. Thus, the company began the phased implementation of a project for the construction of a glass processing plant, the annual productivity of which will be at least 200 thousand tons of recyclable materials.

The environmental and commercial feasibility of bringing end-of-life glass into industrial circulation to produce new glass containers correlates with the principles of a circular economy.

In order for glass waste to meet the requirements of glass production, it is cleaned of foreign inclusions. At the first stage, magnetic separators are installed to select iron elements; Mechanized supply of cullet is carried out along conveyor belts, double crushing is carried out using special machines.

Thanks to the availability of recycling facilities - glass melting furnaces - the enterprise is ready to remelt cullet from all over Siberia. A strategic agreement was signed with the Russian Ecological Operator PPK on cooperation within the framework of the development of an eco-industrial park in the Novosibirsk region. To create sustainable flows of glass waste, agreements have been concluded with regional executive authorities.

Improving the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of cullet allows for a multiple increase in the volume of MSW recycling, as a result, reducing the industrial load on the environment and the placement of useful waste fractions in landfills. Already today, the plant uses up to 45% of glass waste in the production of brown containers (which is approximately 50% in the structure of product output), with plans to increase their share to 80% in 2024.
