Eco-industrial park in Primorye will process up to 16 thousand tons of VMP

The enterprises will recycle waste glass, plastic and waste paper.

The enterprises of the eco-industrial park in Primorsky Krai will process up to 16,000 tons of glass, plastic and waste paper. The implementation of residents' projects will be supported by the Russian Environmental Operator at the expense of funds received from the issuance of bonds, including green bonds.

“The eco-industrial park in Primorye is one of eight that will be built as part of the Federal Circular Economy project throughout the country. REO received applications from companies that expressed a desire to become residents. Among them are Replast LLC, Ecopromprodukt LLC, Eco-Service LLC and Polygon LLC. The recycling capacity of these enterprises can reach up to 16 thousand tons per year. Potential residents are currently collecting initial data for the design of production facilities. Residents have access to support measures offered by the REO to finance investment projects using funds received from the issuance of bonds, including green bonds,” said Denis Butsaev, CEO of the REO.

Also, residents of the eco-industrial park can receive benefits and other measures of state support, determined by the regulatory legal acts of the Primorsky Territory and the Russian Federation.

Organizations that have become potential residents are ready to launch production on the territory of the park for the processing of polymer packaging (PET, HDPE) with a capacity of 2.7 thousand tons per year - "Replast", for the processing of expanded polystyrene (PSB-S) for 250 tons per year - " Ecopromprodukt, for processing glass containers into foam glass with a capacity of 3 thousand tons per year - Eco-Service, as well as a complex for processing cardboard and paper with a capacity of 10 thousand tons per year.

“In the Primorsky Territory, an infrastructure is being created for the separate collection of waste and their recycling. There is an interest of the population in waste sorting, for this purpose more and more special orange containers appear in the yards, and more and more companies appear that are ready to use recyclable materials in their production. And the eco-industrial park will allow them to be united on one site, to give development to this business segment. But most importantly, the share of landfilled waste in the region will decrease, less garbage will be taken to landfills, and all residents of our region will benefit from this!” - said Elena Parkhomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Primorsky Territory.

The commissioning of the eco-industrial park infrastructure will take place at the end of 2024.

In accordance with the terms of the FP EZTs, design documentation for infrastructure facilities of eco-industrial parks was developed. At the moment, the state expertise of the design documentation and the results of engineering surveys is being carried out.

In accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 794 dated August 4, 2015, residents of the eco-industrial park can carry out activities for the disposal, processing, disposal of waste, secondary resources and the production of industrial products using secondary raw materials. In order to become a resident of an eco-industrial park, a company must conclude a land lease agreement with the management company Ecological Digital Operator LLC in order to organize and conduct industrial production.

In total, by the end of 2024, eight eco-industrial parks will be built in the Primorsky Territory, the Moscow Region, the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, as well as the Leningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, and Novosibirsk Regions. All eco-industrial parks contribute to building a circular economy, as well as achieving the goals of the national project "Ecology" to reduce waste disposal by 50%. On their territory, waste disposal enterprises will be located, ensuring the annual involvement in economic circulation of up to 1.1 million tons of secondary resources.
