RATM Holding's glass business EBITDA doubled

RATM Holding summed up the work for ten months of 2019 in one of the key business areas - container glass production.

According to Vitaliy Mironov, executive director of Siberian Glass LLC (an asset of RATM Holding), compared to the same period last year, the production of glass containers in glass complexes located in the industrial park EKRAN increased by 25% - from 392 million to 489 million units. At the same time, the share of lightweight glass containers amounted to 73%, against 41% in January-October 2018. Due to the fact that in 2019 they launched two new bottle production lines using the NNBP method (Narrow Neck Press and Blow), which is 20-25% lighter than the standard one, the average weight of the glassware decreased by 5.3%, although it was planned by 4 , 2%.

“Within the framework of the assortment policy, we have found solutions to halve the number of transfers of production lines from the manufacture of one product to another,” says Vitaliy Mironov. - As a result, the equipment does not stand idle, and the time required for setting up technological modes is minimized. According to Vitaliy Mironov, this year it was possible to achieve savings in fuel and energy resources relative to the planned values.

“With the help of a video camera installed in the fiery pool of the furnace, our experts determine the efficiency of gas combustion and monitor it online,” he comments. - This allowed us to improve the organization of the glassmaking process.

In glass complexes, they constantly strive to increase the utilization of glass melt (CIS). Within ten months, the CIS increased by 0.035 points - from 0.81 to 0.845. “This is a record for the past 15 years, consistent with the practice of advanced glass containers,” says Vitaly Mironov. - For example, in glassworks in the Vladimir region, CIS is 0.81, and the industry average is 0.82-0.83. In 2020, our glaziers should bring CIS to 0.86.

Glassware produced on the Screen is in high demand among customers. The EBITDA of the glass business more than doubled and reached 628.32 million rubles (+ 16% to the plan), while last year it amounted to 310.1 million.

“In 2020, due to the commissioning of a new glass furnace, EBITDA will be more than 1 billion rubles,” Vitaly Mironov predicted.
