1). The 24th annual international Forum “Glass and Modern Technologies – XXI” was held in Moscow on December 14, 2023.

December 14, 2023 A significant event for the glass industry took place in Moscow - the 24th annual International Forum on production and consumption “Glass and Modern Technologies - XXI”.

The main theme of the congress: “Problems hindering the development of the glass industry and ways to solve them. Recommendations for growth and improvement of production until 2030.”

The forum traditionally brought together the best specialists in the glass industry in scientific and practical dialogue, searching for solutions to the educational process during a period of difficult economic policy of the state.

2). Extended meeting of the heads of committees and departments of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia on the entry into force of the Federal Law of 08/04/2023 No. 451 “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Production and Consumption Waste”

On December 25, 2023, the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter referred to as the SSR) held the next scheduled extended meeting of the heads of committees and departments of the SSR with the involvement of independent experts on the entry into force of the Federal Law (hereinafter referred to as the Federal Law) of 08/04/2023 No. 451 “On Amendments” in the Federal Law “On Production and Consumption Waste”.

The meeting was chaired by Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia.

Draft legislative acts on this topic were discussed.

As part of the activities of the Working Group ( WG) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, StekloSoyuz made proposals to reduce the environmental fee rate.

Alexey Savin, Chairman of the SSR Ecology Committee, repeatedly voiced the demands of glass enterprises about the need to change the environmental fee rate for packaging made from various raw materials, because they are disproportionate to each other.

Currently, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation has submitted a proposal to the Government of the Russian Federation to reduce the environmental tax rate from 1 to 0.5 next year, 2024.

At the moment, StekloSoyuz, based on the decision of the meeting, is preparing extensive material for the Government of the Russian Federation as part of the implementation of the requirements of the Federal Law.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 16, 2024.

A decision was made to make structural changes to the SSR.

On December 28, 2023, a meeting of the Presidium of the SSR was held at the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter referred to as SSR) with the invitation of heads of committees, departments and services of the organization.

Planned issues based on the results of production activities of the domestic glass industry for 2023 were discussed.

Viktor Osipov, President of "StekloSouz" of Russia, presented detailed and expanded information on the work of various segments of the glass industry. It was noted that all areas retained their production potential. The factories are operating as normal. Production volumes remained at the 2022 level.

Exports in certain segments decreased. For example, the export of flat glass decreased by 61%.

At the same time, the consumption market within the state is growing, which has created a good platform for maintaining the production of glass products for various sectors of the national economy.

It was noted that glass enterprises supply domestic products to the market, completely replacing imported glass.

The Work Plan of all departments and committees for 2024 was reviewed in detail, including the preparation and holding of the 25th Anniversary Forum “Glass and Modern Technologies - XXI”.
