More than 3,500 jobs were created in the region thanks to investment projects involving Japanese capital. This was stated by the vice-governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Yevgeny Lyulin during a meeting with the director of the Japanese company "Daido Metal Koge" Seigo Hanji.

Evgeny Lyulin noted that the Nizhny Novgorod region is steadily increasing economic indicators of bilateral cooperation with Japan. According to the results of 9 months of 2019, the trade turnover indicators increased and amounted to more than $ 60 million. Commodity turnover increased due to an increase in exports to Japan by 34.3% due to the supply of chemical products, electric machines, sound recording and reproducing equipment.

The Vice-Governor recalled that in the Nizhny Novgorod region six investment projects were implemented with the participation of Japanese capital (Daido Metal Rus, AGC Bor Glassworks, Trosifol, IVK, TRM, Yazaki Volga) , which allowed to create more than 3.5 thousand jobs for Nizhny Novgorod.

“The Daido Metal Koge branch has been operating steadily in the Nizhny Novgorod region for over 10 years, and this is one example of the effective work of Japanese investors in the region. The opening of the plant greatly influenced the development of the automotive cluster in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The more components and components are manufactured within the cluster, the more opportunities arise for attracting finish plants for assembling automobile engines here, ”said Evgeny Lyulin.

The vice-governor added that investments in other enterprises of the region and forms of cooperation will be discussed at the XVI Joint meeting of the Russian-Japanese and Japanese-Russian Committees on Economic Cooperation in February 2020 in Moscow, after which participants will come to Nizhny Novgorod.

“It is especially important for our enterprises to contribute both to economic development and to the social sphere of the region where our enterprise is located. At the meeting, we discussed various aspects of our cooperation, the upcoming tasks not only in the field of economics, but also education, ”said the director of the Daido Metal Koge company Seigo Hanzi.

During the meeting, Yevgeny Lyulin handed Seigo Hanji the “Honored Guest of the Nizhny Novgorod Region” badge.

In addition, the vice-governor drew attention to the possibilities of cooperation in the field of higher education.

“In 2019, the Nizhny Novgorod region was defined as the region in which one of the five world-class research and educational centers is being created. Today, the REC partners are leading universities of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the largest industrial enterprises in the region. I invite the experts of the Daido company to consider the possibility of participating in the work of the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific and Educational Center, ”said Evgeny Lyulin.

Recall that in 2019, by the decision of Governor Gleb Nikitin, the Nizhny Novgorod Region began work on the national project “International Cooperation and Export”. As part of the national project, it is planned to increase non-primary non-energy exports from $ 4 billion in 2018 to at least $ 5.2 billion.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree in which he set goals for the government, which must be achieved before 2024. For this, national projects were developed in 12 areas of socio-economic development.

According to Vladimir Putin, “12 national projects are, first of all, information for business about where and what the state will do, where it will invest resources and what conditions it will create for private initiative.”
