Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Meeting of the heads of glass factories on the issue of providing enterprises with raw materials

On July 06, 2022, a meeting of the heads of glass factories was held at the Association StekloSouz of Russia. We discussed issues of providing enterprises with raw materials.

The main attention was paid to the quality and pricing policy of raw material producers.

Pavel Gorshkov, Director of the Department of Glass Containers, and Andrey Gorin, Director of the Department of Flat Glass and Industrial Processing of StekloSouz Russia focused on the supply of soda ash in their reports of particular importance and concern. In particular, they noted that Bashkhim Trading House LLC has raised the price of soda by almost 30% from the 4th quarter of 2021 to the present.

StekloSouz of Russia applied to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) with a request to revise the agreement with LLC Trade House Bashkhim on pricing policy.

The Association "StekloSouz" of Russia made a proposal on the formation of pricing, taking into account the present economic policy of the Government of the Russian Federation.

A letter was sent to the leaders of Trade House "Bashkhim" LLC with a proposal to jointly study the current situation. It is noted that the profitability of glass factories is sharply decreasing, which will lead to an increase in the cost of finished products in the glass market.

At the same time, a lot of work is being done on the supply of imported soda from other countries.

In the event that the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and Trade House Bashkhim LLC refuse from the agreed pricing calculation methodology, the Association StekloSouz of Russia will prepare a material for the Government of the Russian Federation with a request to intervene in this situation.

According to the participants of the meeting, the Government of the Russian Federation, within the framework of the new economic policy, will take the necessary decisions and specific measures to correct the resulting "skew".

It was decided at the end of July this year to re-hold a meeting on this topic to determine the next steps.
